Legendary actor Sir Sean Connery died at the age of 90. Winner of an Oscar for "Best Supporting Actor" for his role in The Untouchables, the Scot was the first performer to bring the famous agent James Bond 007 to life and came to be in seven films in the series.
The news was reported by his son Jason to the BBC, who recounted that his father was at his home in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, when he "died peacefully in his sleep after being unhealthy for a while."
Jason Connery added that the actor was accompanied by "several family members" during his final minutes and that everyone "is working to understand this surprise moment."

"It's a sad day for everyone who knew and loved my dad and a loss to everyone around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor," concluded the actor's only son, the result of his marriage to Australian Diane Cilento.

Thomas Sean Connery was born on 25 August 1930 in the Scottish city of Edinburgh. Undoubtedly, much of her fame was achieved by first playing the secret agent with a "kill license" in seven films between 1962 and 1983.
