Two 15- and 16-year-olds living in an INAU home in Paysandú were victims of adult sexual exploitation.
It was this type of family official who noticed this situation and filed the corresponding complaint in September of this year.
After several raids in the sanducera capital and also in Young, 18 people were arrested.
This morning, prosecutor Cecilia Irigoyen and Paysandú Police Chief Edwar Alvez gave details of the operation that was called "Atlantic".
In this first stage of the investigation, 13 people were formalized and 10 of them have already received their sentence.
Prosecutor Irigoyen clarified that this is not a sexual exploitation network but an individual case. In some, adults did not get personal contact with minors but through social media and for that reason the penalty they were awarded is less severe.
Of the 13 formalized, nine received two-year prison sentences with probation.
